Home Depot Workday is a relatively new addition to the work management system of the company. It is handled through myTHDHR system and handles several tasks related to basic management of employee profiles and several other applications including Knowledge Depot.

It’s worth noting that Workday is a system developed by a company by the same name. This is a cloud-based financial management and human capital management software. The Home Depot has chosen to use the same system for its employees and associates.

Workday And Self-Service

Workday is currently available through the Employee Self Service page on myTHDHR. As most The Home Depot associates have found, using workday is an important part of their work at the company. 

This system handles several important tasks, including employee profile management, benefits, mailing address, direct deposit information, tax withholdings and tax statements, pay services, payroll card, leave of absence, and a lot more. Even older systems like knowledge depot are now accessed through Workday.

Here’s how you can access workday on myTHDHR.

• Visit the self-service page on myTHDHR or use this link. 
• As the page opens, it shows some information on the self-service system and what it is capable of. Scroll to the bottom of this paragraph and look for “Login to Workday”.
• Clicking this link opens a new page, which will ask for your myTHDHR userId and password. Enter the information to complete authentication.
• Workday generally uses 2FA (two factor authentication) and might send/text a verification code to your mobile, which you will have to enter to access the system.

Interestingly, while this thorough identification system is preferable, it can also be problematic. Many The Home Depot employees say that Workday sessions logout too soon, sometimes within minutes. This means you have to login quite often and deal with the verification code. 

For some people, the battery usage of the phone due to consistent need to check the verification code can be a problem as it may not be easy to charge the phone. 

Others also find that the conventionally used system like Knowledge Depot are more difficult to access through Workday.

Many of these problems might be a result of the Workday system being a relatively new introduction for The Home Depot associates. Since most people know and are comfortable working with the older system, the change brought by Workday might not feel welcome.

On the other hand, The Home Depot management appears to be satisfied with the results of Workday and it looks like the system is here to stay for The Home Depot employees and associates.
